Until it no longer worked
15-hour days. Decisions every minute. Multiple companies. Always ON. Marco Oetterli knows what it feels like when there is no OFF. Almost burnout twelve years ago. Again four years ago. Both times he managed to turn things around. But the feeling remained.
From this feeling came the question: Why does no one give us permission to stop? Why is there no ritual for the transition? ON·OFF did not arise from a market analysis. It came from lived experience. From the body that said: enough.

When Marco is the ON, Michaela is the OFF. Not in the background – at the center. She is the one who says: Stop. Not yet. Not like that. She is the feeling that something is only right when it feels right.
Without her calm, ON·OFF would be just loud. Without her no, many things would have gone out that shouldn’t have. She is the proof that OFF is not a weakness – but strength. The strength to wait. To listen. To do it right.

Because "good enough" is not enough: We revised our tea and capsule recipes until they were just right. Any tea batch that didn’t meet our standards never went on sale. A calculation error was found and corrected before it ever reached a customer.
